My Terrific Kid
Jalen was recognized by the Kiwanis Club, his wonderful teacher, and his principal, here giving him the hug, this morning as a Terrific Kid. The Kiwanis Club gives this certificate to kids that demonstrate a positive attitude, good character, and responsible citizenship.
This will be the last time he will be getting the recognition at his elementary school. He'll be moving on to middle school next year.

Happy Feet on CLover Lane
I made these slippers from my Nest Fiber Studio superwash merino handspun yarn. The solid green in Moda Dea Washable Wool in the color Moss. They didn't take much yarn to make and knitted up super quick. I can see myself making these again.

Schacht Matchless Spinning Wheel
I have a new baby and she's blonde! My Schacht Matchless spinning wheel. I named my Ashford Kiwi Millie and the new baby needed a name too. My husband sat down in front of her and started to treadle. He treadled faster and faster. Then he looked at me and said, “Name her Roxanne”. I told him I liked Roxy better! She’s bad ass and I’m sure she’ll get me in some trouble. :-)
Born August 17, 2012. Just five days after my 12th year wedding anniversary. Wheel number one of the day. I love her so much!

Handspun & Handknit Socks
These were part of my Ravellenic Games 2012 projects. I knitted these with my handspun, n-plied Nest Fiber Studio yarn in the colorway June Bug. They turned out really good and the colors make me smile!

Le Tour de Fleece 2012
Well, success! I managed to spin 10, that's right 10, skeins of yarn for my first Tour! I didn't think I was going to be able to keep up with the everyday spinning but I did.
The fibers a spun were either Nest Fiber Studio or Pigeonroof Studios. All but one of these fibers are superwash merino. The purple singles by are superwash merino/merino/silk by Pigeonroof Studios. I spun a total of 2,467 yards not counting the n-plied mini skeins I got from the remaining singles.
I'm very proud of myself and can't wait to start knitting them up!
